Ellie Jane Goulding was born in Hereford England on December 30 1986. Her mother Tracey Goulding-Summers was employed at a supermarket and the father Arthur Goulding was a member of an undertaker family. Goulding was the second member of the family has an older sister called Isabel along with a younger sister named Jordan. Alex her younger brother plays the guitar. Alex also is part of a group from Hereford. Her mother encouraged her to pursue music as a child. Her first instrument was the clarinet at the age of nine.
